How things happened.
While every event venue has a similar ways of doing things we believe Confluence was unique, not only in what we offered, but in how we strived to improve the outcome of attendees and experiences of organisers.

AttendingAll our public spaces were fully accessible with flat floors and wide opening doors, plus air-conditioned for year round comfort. We had step-free access as well as a traditional stepped access doors.
Confluence's event space was private and quiet plus well equipped with a variety of seating and tables, including interactive data projectors, pens and paper, whiteboards. It was also connected directly to our kitchen space offering a variety of kitchenware and white-goods to support events, including an oven for reheating catering.

Food and drinkWe provided free filtered and chilled drinking water for all events, workshops, and visitors. Where appropriate we also provided filter coffee and teas, or other hot beverages. Our kitchen was stocked with plates and cutlery, plus a range of appliances including an oven.
Event organisers could also provide catering from local suppliers and there was plenty of kitchen worktop and tables to make up plates on for serving, plus tables and chairs for attendees to enjoy them from.
Confluence was an alcohol free venue at all times for all events, including all private events, or events organised by others and happening here. There are neighbouring venues that cater for serving alcohol and we encouraged attendees to visit these instead after any suitable events at Confluence.

Venue layoutConfluence was made up of two main spaces on separate floors. Our cinema space was on the 2nd floor of the building and seated approximately 30 people depending upon the layout options. The coworking and shared Backhouse events space were on the 1st floor level of the building.
The capacity of the Backhouse space varied depending upon the layout for each event. There was seating for a maximum of 40 at presentation or speaker style events Or a capacity of 60 for informal standing events with tables for food and non-alcoholic drinks.
All space capacities were strictly in accordance with any local Covid19 or similar protection frameworks in place, or expected to be in place, at the time of an event.
