Fulfilling Friday Fundraiser Film
About our fundraiser film sessions
Confluence partners with individuals or organisations to run fundraiser screenings. If you or your organisation is trying to raise funds that will benefit the Whanganui community - keep reading!
These films are always open to the general public, but we can also set aside blocks of seats (either paid or complimentary) for those we partner with.
Our seat prices are set at $10 per seat. We normally only screen twice weekly on a Thursday and Friday evening, with Thoughtful Thursday's being reserved exclusively documentary films.
Our screening schedule for the month is usually set on or before the 25th of the previous month - make sure you contact us at least 1 - 2 months in advance if you're keen to fundraise.
About the films
The films we screen as fundraisers are normally selected by us from our usual list of art-house, independent, and specialist distributors in New Zealand. Wherever possible we will choose or suggest a film that aligns with the values or message of the partner.
In addition to choosing from our upcoming schedule, we can source and screen any film that meets NZ classification requirements (please check or ask us if you're unsure), and is available to us for the date in consideration. It is important to note that some international distributors and filmmakers often require uneconomic licence fees so cannot be used for fundraising purposes.
About being our partner
There are no set guidelines for who we partner with, and each suggestion will be considered by Melita and Kevin based on the information you supply below.
Where possible we will contact you, or the intended recipient, to have a chat about what they do and how the fundraiser will help.
There are no restrictions on who we can offer donations to, but prefer that the intended use of the funds aligns with Confluence's values of community, collaboration, and critical thinking.

If you have a film in mind that would suit this fundraiser screening and partner then let us know here. Please remember that Confluence Cinema is focused on art-house and independent releases (new and old), so content from the bigger international studios like Disney, Universal, and 20th Century, are not normally screened.
Preference date.

We confirm our next month's schedule of films on or before the 25 of the month beforehand. But we can, and prefer, to slot in fundraisers as early as possible - especially if we're able to screen film that has been released greater than 6 months ago.
While we cannot always offer specific fundraising screening dates or film titles, we do our best to provide dates and find or offer titles which are ideal for everyone. If you have a specific Friday or Thursday screening date in mind, then let us know as early as possible.

We're always interested to find out how people discovered our services at Confluence. We don't do anything fancy with this information but if something we're spending time and money on is not working after a period of time we may use these insights in our decision making.
* Confluence and our owning company Double Farley Ltd, have both removed all of their official social media pages or groups in response to the industry as a whole and in specific examples such as Facebook, profiteering over people's human rights and fears, and their collective and continued lack of responsibility in the basic principles of publishing.
We do not expect, encourage, or require our partners to take the same position on social media as we do. So they may freely use their own social media to advertise, promote, or talk about Confluence Cinema fundraisers, however we will not participate in or endorse those posts.
