HIP HOP-ERATION - Thursday 01 August - 6:30pm - $10
Hip pain or hippest? Common aliments of age are no barrier for New Zealand's oldest hip-hop dance troupe, and this documentary shows you why. Following them from exercise routines in retirement villages through to applause and screams on the Vegas strip, this is a classic Kiwi tale of determination and not wanting to be put out to pasture.
You may be like one of the film's dancers and 'just not like the music, but love the movements', or you may just be fascinated by the concept of seeing Nan bling it up with the best of em. Whatever your reason for seeing this film we're sure you'll laugh, cry, and enjoy every moment.
The film received best documentary, best director and best cinematographer awards at the New Zealand Film Awards in December 2014 and after international release won the Audience Choice Award at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival.
Reserve or book your seats now as this is a rare chance to see Hip Hop-eration (a play on words between hip-hop and hip operation) on the big screen, along with an atmosphere only created by your fellow audience, and all right here in Whanganui.
