Bending Sticks | Thursday 8 October | 6:35pm | Rated: Exempt | $10
A portrait of environmental artist Patrick Doughterty and his whimsical, larger than life stick creations.
This special screening is being generously supported by the filmmakers themselves, and is a fundraiser for The Friends of Gordon park during NZ's Conservation week 2020. It is a chance to enjoy a documentary film on the big screen where art and nature combine to enhance life.
"The theme for Conservation Week 2020 encourages everyone to see nature through new eyes. Since the COVID-19 lockdown, many of us slowed down and looked at our lives and the world differently. So, we're inviting you to enjoy a fresh prospective on our natural spaces and unique wildlife, and boost your wellbeing by immersing yourself in nature." - Katy Newton.
This rescheduled screening continues to be in support of the Friends of Gordon Park Reserve trust as a fundraiser with 100% of the box office takings being donated by Confluence to the trust.
Doors open 6pm and the evening starts a little later than usual, 6:35pm, to allow those attending the Museum lectures time to arrive without rushing.
